Day 1 : Fes_Ifrane_Midelt_ Erfoud_ Merzouga
Start your day early for the long drive and travel south toward merzouga. Along the way , you will pass first through IFRANE the little switzerland of MOROCCO. Next, the cedar forests of the MIDDLE ATLAS MOUNTAIS. Which is known for the spread of Barbary macaques before stopping for lunch in Midelt (the apple city’). Then, you will continue your journey towards the picturesque ZIZ VALLEY, passing through palm groves and green oases to ERFOUD.( Known for its date festival and fossils). Finally to MERZOUGA desert which is famous for its beautiful DUNES (ERG CHEBBI). Overnight at the hotel.
Day 2 : Excursion in the Desert
oday, after a leisurely breakfast at the hotel, you will meet your driver and begin your adventure in discovering the Merzouga Desert. Firstly,You will stop to visit a NOMAD family. have a cup of tea with them, and see how they arrange to live in the desert. Next, you will go to Khamilia, a very small village located on the edge of the ERG CHEBBI sand DUNES in SOUTHEASTERN MOROCCO. Then will stop to enjoy a Gnawa performance to the rhythm of Gnaoui music and the accompanying dance and entertainment. After that, stop for lunch at a typical restaurant serving “BERBER PIZZA” the most famous meal in EASTERN MOROCCO. After lunch get back to your hotel. In the evening, at around SUNSET you will RIDE CAMELS and wander through the SAND DUNES in search of magical SUNSET. Before get dark. You will enjoy a Delicious dinner in the middle of SAHARA , enjoy drumming and listen to berber song around the fire, and spend the night at NOMADIC TENT.
Day 3 : Merzouga_Rissani_ Ouarzazate
This morning will be an early one, you will rise up and hike up the dune in order to enjoy what may just be the best sunrise of your life.
After breakfast and a much-needed shower at the camp you will depart to Rissani. This is the ancient capital for the Alaouite Sultans and the most important market town for Sub-Sahara camel caravans, you will have a chance to visit the big Souk.
After that you will continue your way to Ouarzazate through the Draa Valley, one of the longest palm grove valleys in Morocco. Admire the charming adobe Kasbahs and Berber villages along the road. As you are heading up to Ouarzazate you will notice the interesting geological formations of the Draa Valley and Ait Saoun col before arriving to OUARZAZATE where you will spend overnight.
Day 4 : Ouarzazate_Ait Benhaddou_ Marrakech
You will start with breakfast in your hotel and then drive to the Ait Benhaddou Kasbah, It’s an infamous kasbah and the scene for many Hollywood hits, Films such as Gladiator, The Mummy and Alexander were filmed in this UNESCO World Heritage Site. Enjoy a 1-hour walking tour of the site, Later on,drive to the Atlas Mountains where you will have a great local lunch. After lunch, you carry on to Marrakech passing through Tizi N’ Tichka pass 2260m before arrive at Marrakech early evening drop you off at your hotel. Tour end
